Principles of the GDPR

What does Principles of the GDPR?

In Art. 5 para. 1 GDPR contains the central principles of data protection law. These include the following:

- Legality, good faith, Transparency (Art. 5 para. 1 lit. A) GDPR)

- Earmarking (Art. 5 para. 1 lit. B) GDPR)

- Data minimization (Art. 5 para. 1 lit. C) GDPR)

- Correctness (Art. 5 para. 1 lit. D) GDPR)

- Storage limitation (Art. 5 para. 1 lit. E) GDPR)

- Integrity and Confidentiality (Art. 5 para. 1 lit. F) GDPR)

In addition, Art. 5 para. 2 GDPR Accountability (->) Accountability). In practice, this means that Responsible persons in case of doubt, must be able to prove that they act in compliance with data protection law and, in particular, that they comply with the principles set out in Art. 5 (1) GDPR comply with.

Practical example

With the Processing of data, the company takes into account the principle of Principles of the GDPRby collecting only necessary data and providing transparent information about its use.
