Responsible persons

What does Responsible persons?

Controller within the meaning of Art. 4 No. 7 GDPR is any natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the Processing of personal data. In contrast, a processor, for example, may decide on the means, but not on the purposes of the processing. Processing decide. The Responsible persons is liable externally, i.e. to third parties, for any data protection violations, so that, for example, a Fine can be imposed or a claim for damages or compensation for pain and suffering can be asserted.

Practical example

If a company commissions an external service provider with data processing, this service provider is referred to as the Responsible persons and a corresponding contract is concluded.
