Earmarking

What does Earmarking?

The principle of Earmarking is an important cornerstone of data protection law. It states that personal data must be collected for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes and must not be further processed in a manner incompatible with those purposes (Art. 5 (1) (b)) GDPR).

Practical example

With the Processing of data, the company takes into account the principle of Earmarkingby collecting only necessary data and providing transparent information about its use.
