What does Server?

A Server (German: Diener, Bediensteter) is a special computer or a special program that is used to provide certain functionalities, utilities, data, computing capacity or storage space that other computers (known as clients) can access via a network connection. For example, content for websites is stored on a web server, incoming and outgoing emails are managed on an email server or data is made available centrally for other users on a file server.
