What does Certification?
In order to Transparency and to ensure compliance with the GDPR To improve this, certification procedures, as well as data protection seals and labels, should be introduced to provide data subjects with a quick overview of the level of data protection offered by relevant products and services. The so-called GDPR-Certification pursuant to Article 42 GDPR entitles the EU Member States, the supervisory authorities, the EDPB and the EU Commission to promote the introduction of such data protection-specific certification procedures as well as data protection seals and certification marks. A Certification within the meaning of Art. 42 GDPR may, pursuant to Art. 32 para. 3 GDPR be used as a factor to determine compliance with the requirements set out in Art. 32 para. 1 GDPR requirements mentioned above.
