E-mail security

What does E-mail security?

As email is still the preferred means of communication even in times of video calls and messengers, a high level of security should be ensured. Wherever possible, a modern Encryption after the State of the art must be taken into account. A distinction must be made here between Encryption of the transmission path, i.e. from the e-mail client to the incoming or outgoing server, the path between these two and the Encryption the email content or attachments themselves. The first point is no longer a problem, as all major email providers now offer encrypted transmission. The Encryption of the content is more problematic. This is because the sender and recipient must agree on an encryption method. This can be an S/MIME certificate or a PGP/GPG key, for example. Further information can be found on the BSI website.

Practical example

One company uses E-mail security to personal data through Technical and organizational measures from unauthorized access.
