Data retention

What does Data retention?

Under Data retention the storage and Storage certain data for the purpose of the investigation, detection and prosecution of Criminal offenses understood. For example, DSL or mobile phone providers are supposed to store their customers' data "on file" for a longer period of time, in particular to facilitate criminal prosecution. In the case of Data retention the envisaged retention period goes well beyond the duration permitted for purely contractual purposes and is not necessary for the performance of a contract, billing or similar purposes.

Practical example

Personal data are recognized in accordance with the statutory Data retention and duly deleted after expiry of the deadline.
