Data protection coordinator

What does Data protection coordinator?

Just like the data protection auditor, the tasks of the data protection coordinator are not regulated by law, unlike those of the data protection officer. In most cases, data protection coordinators are responsible for implementing data protection regulations in practice, i.e. in particular for creating the processing directory. Ideally, at least one person per department/specialist area is appointed as the data protection coordinator. Data protection coordinator appointed and, together with the Data Protection Officer and the other coordinators, forms a Data protection team.

Practical example

If a company commissions an external service provider with data processing, this service provider is referred to as the Data protection coordinator and a corresponding contract is concluded.
