Authentication

What does Authentication?

Under Authentication is the successful authentication of a user, for example using individual log-in data (e.g. user ID and password). Two-factor authentication requires an additional confirmation method in addition to entering the user ID and password. This is because confirming the entry of log-in data, e.g. via an app or a code received via SMS, creates an additional security level that makes it more difficult for third parties to gain unauthorized access to third-party accounts - even if they know the password.

Practical example

One company uses Authentication to personal data through Technical and organizational measures from unauthorized access.
