With the release 7.10.3.1, which took place on September 30, 2026 Once it becomes available in Germany and on October 1, 2026, in the U.S., 2B Advice PrIME will be particularly useful for Management of Processing Activities (DPP) expanded. In the future, processing activities can be selectively deactivated. When creating a new version, it is also possible to automatically deactivate the previous version.
In addition, this release includes fixes related to the recalculation of processing activities and the permissions of local DPOs, as well as other security enhancements.
Disable Processing Activities
Processing activities may change over time. Processes may be discontinued, replaced by other processes, or continued in a new version. For the Documentation It is therefore relevant whether a processing activity is still actively used or is no longer part of the current Processing is.
Until now, this life cycle could only be modeled to a limited extent in PrIME. In particular, when creating a new version, the status of the previous version had to be taken into account separately. As a result, both the previous and the new versions of a processing activity could be listed as active at the same time.
With the new release, a processing activity can be deactivated directly from its overview. The new action available for this purpose is „Deactivate“ / „Deaktivieren“ available.
If the processing activity in question has already been disabled, the action will no longer be available. PrIME takes the current status into account and disables the corresponding button.
To deactivate it, open the relevant processing activity and select the action in its overview „Disable“ selected. The processing activity is then marked as deactivated.
This makes it possible to distinguish between processing activities that are no longer relevant or have been discontinued and those that are still in use.
Disable previous version in version control
Previously, the previous version of a processing activity generally remained active when a new version was created. If only the new version was to be continued, the status of the previous version therefore had to be taken into account as well.
With this release, the Creating a New Version the option
„Deactivate previous version“ / „Deactivate previous version“
supplemented.
If this option is selected, PrIME creates the new version and deactivates the previous version at the same time. This allows both versioning and the status change to be performed in a single step.
The option is enabled by default not enabled. The current behavior will therefore remain unchanged for the time being. If you want the current version to remain active, no further selection is required.
If, on the other hand, the current version is to be replaced by the new version, the option „Disable Previous Version“ be activated. PrIME then deactivates the previous version as part of the versioning process.
Central Configuration of the Deactivation Function
You can opt out of data processing by using a Configuration Settings for Processing Activities be controlled centrally.
If this feature is enabled, both the action „Disable“ in the overview of a processing activity, as well as the option „Disable Previous Version“ when creating a new version.
If the feature is disabled, both options are completely hidden in the user interface.
Organizations can use this to determine whether the new feature for mapping the lifecycle of processing activities should be implemented in their PrIME system.
Adjustment in the Recalculation of Processing Activities
Under certain circumstances, the automatic Recalculation of Processing Activities got caught in a continuous processing loop. In these cases, the calculation was triggered repeatedly instead of stopping after a successful Processing to be terminated.
The underlying logic was corrected in this release. After a successful Processing The recalculation of a processing activity is now properly completed. There will be no further recalculations under the conditions in question.
For users, this does not result in any change in how the system is operated.
Correcting Permissions for Local DPOs
For users with the role Local DPO An authorization issue might have occurred when accessing reports on processing activities.
In certain cases, it was not possible to access the relevant reports, even though the user's assigned permissions allowed for such access.
The authorization check has been corrected accordingly. Users with the role Local DPO After the update, they can access reports on processing activities in accordance with their assigned permissions.
No additional configuration by administrators or users is generally required. Existing permissions will be taken into account accordingly after the update.
Security Improvements
This release includes several Security Improvements, which relate to permissions, access controls, and system availability.
Configuring Permissions
Following the introduction of the new functional role „BBDRO_AnswerSelector“ It was determined that the permissions required for this were not yet fully included in certain customer-specific roles. The affected roles were therefore updated to include the necessary permissions for Processing Assessments supplemented.
This ensures that users with appropriately configured custom roles can use the intended features within assessments.
Access to Processing Activity Reports
For users with the role Local DPO An authorization issue could occur when accessing Processing Activity Reports. In certain cases, access was not possible even though it should have been allowed based on the permissions assigned to the user.
The permission check has been corrected. Users with the role Local DPO After the update, they will be able to access Processing Activity Reports in accordance with their assigned permissions.
Improving System Availability
Under certain conditions, the reclassification of processing activities into a Infinite loop occur. This could happen in particular during processing activities whose criticality was not visible to the user in question.
The underlying logic has been corrected. The recalculation now completes properly and is not triggered repeatedly. This prevents unnecessary system load and any resulting Impact on System Availability avoided.
For users, this correction does not result in any changes to how 2B Advice PrIME is operated.
Significance of the Release for Working with Processing Activities
A key focus of PrIME Release 7.10.3.1 is shown in the illustration of the Life Cycle of Processing Activities. Processing activities that are no longer needed can be specifically deactivated in the future. When creating a new version, you can also specify immediately whether the previous version should remain active or be deactivated when the new version is created.
In addition, this release fixes the Processing and recalculation of processing activities, as well as report access for local DPOs.
