New feature for 2B Advice PrIME

from D. Zier

The new version of 2B Advice PrIME Online Services is ready! The new version of the 2B Advice PrIME online services with the new platform for web-based training is now available to all subscribers of the service package. With the extended range of functions, you are completely free and now much faster when designing a training course. Among other things, it is possible to create the desired content down to the last detail in line with your company's corporate design. All new functions are optional.

Version 2B Advice PrIME of the online services contains changes relating to the web-based training platform in particular. This has been expanded to include many new options. Above all, however, the new version makes it easier for you to create and maintain training courses. Many enhancements have arisen from our day-to-day consulting practice, but in particular from the requirements of our numerous customers, especially corporate customers.

1. tile layout - drag & drop

Pages can be designed either in the normal familiar three-column layout or in the new tile layout. With the tile layout, you can drag and drop content into the tile form. You can now arrange the resulting tiles individually. This makes it very easy to create a variety of different page layouts.

2. tile layout - responsive design

The tile layout also makes it possible to create pages in responsive design. This makes it possible to adapt the display of the called page to the calling device. You can now create training courses for different platforms, which can then be carried out by participants on a smartphone, tablet, PC or MAC. Training courses can be easily adapted to any screen size. Using tiles, you can create individual templates for any screen resolution and special layouts for tablets and smartphones. You can also use special navigation elements for mobile devices.

3. CSS - Style Sheets

We now offer the option for experienced designers to create and manage their own CSS style sheets. CSS style sheets can be used to customize individual page elements or even the entire WBT design. The respective corporate design guidelines can thus be adhered to down to the pixel. Once a CSS class has been defined, it can be used again and again. All elements that are assigned to a predefined CSS class can be adapted centrally via this class. For easier access to CSS and more efficient use, you can now import and create your own CSS files and store them in a directory without having to edit the files directly. Custom CSS files stored in the directory can be quickly accessed via the "Edit" window. Using the autocomplete function, you can enter part of the desired CSS class and receive suggestions for suitable CSS classes from which you can select the correct one.

4. tile toolbox - quick storage and reuse

The Toolbox makes it easy to copy and paste tiles. When you copy a tile, it is saved in the toolbox for unrestricted reuse. To paste the tile again, you can simply drag it out of the toolbox and position it where you want it. The Toolbox saves all tiles and tile elements, even if you design the layout for different screen resolutions. This allows you to quickly and easily create pages in responsive design.

5. new page elements are now available

  • Slider
  • Multimedia content (audio & video)
  • Picture listing
  • Improved navigation options
  • Improved text element options
  • Improved page elements
  • New question options

6. navigation - automatically generated

The contents of the navigation are automatically set and managed based on the chapters created. This feature applies to all screen sizes. The size and color attributes of the navigation can be changed via a menu. The horizontal navigation is reactive and adapts to the screen size. For optimal use on a tablet or smartphone, you can use the navigation tile via a drop-down menu.

7. new multifunction menu bar and progress bar

If you add a navigation element to a tile, you now have the option "Multifunction menu bar". This option allows you to select new navigation elements from a list. These new elements go beyond the typical navigation bar to create an even better interface. The optional progress bar now shows training participants what percentage of the training has already been completed.

8. text element options - random text and text display conditions

The random text function displays previously defined text objects in a random order. When the website is refreshed, a new text is loaded and displayed. If, for example, several texts are stored in one text element in a training course, viewers never have the impression that they already know the content.
You can specify the conditions under which various text elements are displayed or hidden. This function is only used in the question section of WBTs. For example: If a participant has answered all the questions in a training course, you can display and congratulate them on their score at the end of the course. However, if not all questions have been answered, you also have the option of indicating this.

9. question options - mandatory answers and new answer tile option

You could already use a final test to check whether the participants have understood the training content. Question elements can now be set so that answering them is mandatory. This means that the participant must select an answer. You can either insert all answers into one tile or assign a separate tile to each answer. It is also possible to place the "Answer" button either in the same tile as the question - or in a separate tile.
